VEDIC MATHS | ONE LINE MULTIPLICATION

 MULTIPLICATION SHORT TRICKS

Lets start with Vedic Math by first learning simple Multiplication!!

ONE LINE MULTIPLICATION

   Multiplication of :

 AB

 ×CD

To solve this multiplication problem we have to follow 3 Steps which are as follows :-

Step – 1 : Multiply both terms on the left that is

   =>  B×D= a

Step – 2 : Cross multiply both terms and add

    =>    A×D + B×C = b

Step – 3 : Multiply both terms on right that is

   =>    A×C = c

NOW THE ANSWER IS JUST   cba

NOTE : If any of  a and b are two digit numbers then only units digit will be written rest will go to carry over ,c has to be written as it is.

Example 1 :

    21

 × 31

Step 1 :- 1 × 1 = 1 ;  a=1

Step 2 :- 2 ×1  +  3 × 1  ; b=5

Step 3 :- 2 × 3 = 6 ;  c=6

Final Answer

cba = 651

Example 2

   42

 ×31

Step 1 :- 2×1= 2  ;  a=2

Step 2 :- 4×1 + 3×2 = 10  ;  b=10

Step 3 :- 4×3  =  12 ; c=12

So final answer is

                                  +1

                    cba       12  0  2  (here 10 is double digit so I wrote 1 in carryover )

Final Answer = 1302

EXAMPLE 3

                       26

                     ×52

  a=12  ; b=34  ; c=10 (12 is double digit so I wrote 2 and ; 1 went carry over similarly 34 is double digit so I wrote 4 and ; 3 went to carry over )

                            +3  +1

                             10   4   2

  Final  Answer = 1352

EXAMPLE 4

                     75

                   ×32

 a=10  ; b= 29 (14 + 15) ; c= 21

                                               +2  +1

                                               21   9    0   (9+1 =10 so 1 also carryover as we have learned in junior classes)

                                                +1

                                               2  3   0   0

                                                 2400

Now you are good to go and practice a few more questions on your own for perfection and quick calculations.
