Now I Know: Poem

Brief

Through this poem, I’ve tried to depict the state of mind of a girl who is constantly fighting battles with the outside world for her rights, and now she’s done. She has learnt enough lessons and is ready to  rise above all.  

Oh! you little girl  

show me how you swirl,  

Oh! sir you please go back 

now I know it’s a trap !  

Your pleasing eyes  

now I know,  

you still took fake  

with this suit and bow  

Now I know  

how smart you are,  

your words are planes  

but actions are cars  

You made me cry  

and asked me why,  

now the world asks me  

and I am shy 

You made me a fool  

and acted cool,  

but now I know  

will break all these rules.  

Now I know  

what pain looks like,  

bruises in heart  

but face with a smile  

Took my life  

and I gave it with pride,  

but now I know  

you are on the wrong side  

Now I know  

that you are a fake,  

not gonna fall  

for your rubbish sake.  

Now I know  

what I have to do,  

shine even brighter  

that’s what I’ve been born into
