Exploring Mumbai in a Day | Bombay, India

Mumbai is a dream city for many out there. It has all the things that a tourist wants to visit in a city from monuments to museums and from parks to beaches. So, are you ready to explore Mumbai in a day? If you are then here is a list of places you could see in a single day. Are you excited to see the list? I am too, so let us get started.
1. Gateway of India
So first up is Gateway of India. This is one of the most iconic places in Mumbai. It was constructed in 1924. It is full of architectural beauty.it is one of the top tourist places. You should visit this place in the morning itself to see the mesmerizing sunrise. Once you will reach there you can easily see one of the most luxurious hotels in Mumbai i.e. Taj Hotel nearby. Here you can click pictures of yourself with both Gateway of India and Taj Hotel at the backdrop. Gateway of India opens from 07:00 am to 5:00 pm. And the good thing is that there are no entry charges for visitors. You just need to surpass some security checks at the entry point, and you have reached.
2. Marine Drive
So next up is marine drive. It is a concrete road of 3 kilometers. It is also called the queen’s necklace. At night when all the streetlights are on, then exactly it looks like a necklace. If you are one of those persons who loves to spend time with itself, who loves to enjoy the vibes of the sea then this place is for you. Here you can just relax and can easily forget your problems. And if you are going there in the morning then you may meet joggers and cyclists out there and who knows you may meet your favorite actor or actress there. If you are a foodie person you can also try some foods from nearby food stalls. But remember do not throw garbage here and there. It is called the queen’s necklace and let the beauty of that necklace shine not fade. You can also swim here. Here you will also be able to see a solid sunrise in the morning. And if you like taking time lapses then why not take time lapses here? If you are Mumbaikar and if you have not been here, then you’re missing a lot of things. And if you are new to Mumbai you should visit this place.
3. Haji Ali Dargah
Moving to our next destination, here we have Haji Ali Dargah. Haji Ali Dargah, the mausoleum of the famous Muslim Saint Pir Haji Ali Shah Bukhari, is situated on the islet about 500 yards from the Worli, Mumbai coastline in the Arabian Sea off Lala Lajpatrai Marg. Have you listened to the “Piya Haji Ali” song by AR Rahman? That song is the right description of this place and if you have not listened to that song then you must. It is situated in the middle of the sea. If you like shopping, then you could also shop here from roadside stalls. You feel blessed when you visit this place. Sea breeze from Arabian sea makes you feel stressed out. I think I will not be wrong if I say that this place is a real stress buster. It Opens 7 days a week between 5:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and there are no entry fees.
4. Siddhivinayak Temple
Next in the list is Siddhivinayak Temple. It is located in the Prabhadevi area. It is one of the most famous temple of lord Ganesha. We all know that lord Ganesh is the first to be worshipped before beginning any new project or ventures as he is the destroyer of obstacles. It is said that whichever wish you ask inside the temple it surely comes true. The main crown of the temple is a magnificent gold-plated dome. And the good thing is that The Shree Siddhivinayak Ganapati Temple Trust is involved in several charitable activities. Here you feel completeness in yourself. It opens from 5:30 am to 10:00 pm and again has no entry fees. And if you are going there do attend kakad aarti there.
5. Juhu Beach
It’s almost evening time and what better time would it be for you to visit this juhu beach. Juhu Beach is the longest beach in Mumbai. Here you can just chill out with your friends and families and just relax. It is the best place to see the lovely sunset. And you know what, the sunset near the beach is one of my favourite activities that I prefer to do. That orange, red, yellowish sky Oh My Gosh! What a beautiful creation of nature that we could see in our entire life. And you know what you can easily spot Amitabh Bachchan’s and Akshay Kumar’s house from this beach. And if you don’t know who they are then I fear you must also not be knowing Bollywood. It is also one of the favourite spots for the joggers to jog. You can also easily spot celebrities here. Mumbaikars without a beach can’t live. They love to spend their time near beaches, day in and day out. It is also one of the famous shooting locations for Bollywood movies. You can easily spot n numbers of tourists here. And if you love chaats then you must try chaat and gola out here. During Ganesh Chaturthi, Ganpati Visarjan happens here. Means on Ganesh Chaturthi “crowd hi crowd Babu Bhaiya ”. You can also take time lapses of sunset here. You can also swim here. It is open 24 hours a day. And again, it’s free to visit here.
6. Mount Mary Church
I want before you go to bed just go and visit Mount Mary Church. You will like it. Pray for your loved ones and thank god for everything you have. It mostly closes around 8:30 pm so visit this place before this place closes.
And finally go to bed. And guess what you have visited Mumbai in a day. I know not a whole Mumbai, there are many things that are remaining but do you remember the dialogue from Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani that “JITNA BHI TRY KARO BUNNY LIFE MEIN KUCH NA KUCH TO CHUTEGA HI, TOH JAHA HAI WAHI KA MAJA LETE HAI NA”.
