EduMound is a start-up platform established for young minds aspiring to contribute their skills and knowledge for the growth of the educational fraternity.
We aim at empowering students who are seeking opportunities for self establishment.
About the Competition
EduMound brings to you “The Open Scissors: National Debate Tournament”, an opportunity for all the participants to enhance their public speaking skills, communication, and interpersonal skills along with winning exciting cash prizes.
Guide to the competition :
- It is a virtual competition, to be conducted on PAN India Level.
- It’s on 14th November 2021, Timings- 11:00AM KIDS (Age group below 15) & 06:00PM: ADULTS (Age group above 15).
- It is Sponsored by EduMound. Hence no registration fees.
- The winners will be awarded cash prizes worth ₹600/-
- The link for the competition will be shared via email, one day before the event.
- The Topics for the kids will be given beforehand, but for the adults, the topics will be impromptu.
- Each pair will be given a time of 3 minutes to speak on their topic.
- It will be a random selection so your chance may come anytime.
- We will be streaming this competition Live on YouTube and the criteria for winning include the count of live votes during the stream. So mushroom your social support!

6:00 PM (For ADULTS)
TOPICS
KIDS – Topics would be provided 1 day before the competition, it shall be based on any contemporary/social issue.
ADULTS – Topics would be given impromptu, for which a participant would be required to speak either for the topic or against it. The topic shall be based on general statments.
The language (medium of speaking) is open to the choice of the participants. A participant may choose to speak either in English or Hindi!

JUDGMENT CRITERION
The judgment criteria go with a ratio of 60-40%, wherein 60% for Live Voting and 40% as per scores awarded by the judges.
For Live Voting
The link for the YouTube live will be shared beforehand so that contestants can circulate them to their friends and relatives to show their support for them during the live debate.
The winner will be decided based on Live Voting in the comments section of YouTube and Instagram.
Kindly Note: Comments by your supporter would be counted if they have followed EduMound’s Instagram page and Subscribed EduMound’s YouTube channel.
The link for the contestants would be shared one day before the competition, so be vigilant about it.

- The winner will be awarded Cash Prizes worth ₹600/-
- Certificate of Merit will be provided to top 10 Merit Holders
- Acknowledgment on Social Media Platform.
- Participation certificates to all the participants.
- Participants get a golden chance of opening doors to future publications, internships, and membership with us if standards are met.
REPORT CARD/FEEDBACK
Contestants wishing for feedback on their performance may mail their request at info@edumound.com on the same day, and a detailed report card prepared by the adjudicators will be shared.
RESULTS
Results of the competition would be released on the Social Media Platforms of EduMound by 20th November 2021.
