ABSTRACT
There has been tremendous growth in the use of mobile phones in India. It is reported that India’s telecommunication market is the second largest in the world. Mobile phones are available to people right from the age of 12 years. Mobile phone technology has brought the world closer. Although the mobile phone provided many advantages, it has also caused some problems. It is, therefore, thought to study the various aspects of mobile phone use. In this article, the concerns about the possible toxic and adverse effects of cell phone use are discussed.
INTRODUCTION
The mobile phone is one of the latest wonders of modern science. It is a wireless telephone that one can carry and use anywhere. The mobile phone has given a new dimension to all kinds of communication. The concept of a global village is getting successful due to mobile technology. However, every good thing may be used improperly and the mobile phone is not an exception.
In the past, mobile phones were merely used only for calls and for sending messages but in the advanced era, they’re now used for multiple purposes. The use of cell phones has been increasing during the new 21century of science and technology. Mobile phones or cell phones have made a revolutionary change.
USE OF CELL PHONES
- Keep us connected: Mobile phones are playing an important role in the advanced era. They are used to communicating with people far from us. In a few seconds, we are able to make voice and video calls with other people through mobile phones at a low cost.
- Day-to-day communication: Moreover, they are used to send and receive emails to a person or from a person sitting anywhere in the world at a very low cost by surfing the internet.
- Managing office work: Due to mobile phones, the world has become a small village. Even the pressure of business and offices is becoming low due to work on mobile phones. Mobile phones are installed with Microsoft Office and other office software. People can make pdf, word office and ppt etc, in their mobile phones itself.
- E-learning: Students can search on mobile phones for their assignments. Even e-learning is also available on mobile phones and a student is also able to take online classes.
- Getting information: Mobile phones are the main sources of information the mobile phone people are attached to the world. They can be aware of the current affairs of the world.
- Mobile Banking: Nowadays mobiles are even used as a wallet for making payments. Money could be transferred almost instantly to friends, relatives or others by using mobile baking on the smartphone. Also, one can easily access his/her account details and know past transactions. So it saves a lot of time and is also hassle-free.
- Prints and vids: Moment we generally do not use any redundant camera. With the backing of a movable, we’re suitable to take prints as numerous as we ask. No redundant cost is critical for this. Besides, most mobile phones have videotape installations.
- Other installations: The portable has numerous other installations. It’s operations like watches and alarm timepieces, scrapbooks, calculators, torchlight, etc. The itinerant is used for remote surveillance. Moment numerous of us use mobile technology to look at the conditioning of our workers from a distance. The movable also can be habituated to give commands to some machines to figure from a distance.
ABUSE OF CELL PHONES
- Wasting Time: Nowadays people have become addicted to mobiles. Even when we don’t need to be mobile we surf the net and play games making real addicts. As mobile phones became smarter, people became dumber.
- Making Us Non- communicable: Wide usage of mobiles has resulted in less meet and talk more. Now people don’t meet physically but rather chat or comment on social media.
- Loss of Privacy: It is a major concern now of losing one’s privacy because of much mobile usage. Today anyone could easily access information like where you live, your friends and family, what is your occupation, where is your house, etc; by just easily browsing through your social media account.
- Money Wastage: As the use of mobiles has increased so has their cost. Today people spend a lot of money on buying smartphones, which would rather be spent on more useful things like education, or other useful things in our life.
- Increase in crimes: Mobile phones are often used for organized crime and inhuman activities like theft, hijacking, killing, etc.
- Human health: Radiation from cell phones can cause serious health hazards. Too much use of cell phones can damage our hearing, nervous system, and brain cells and even cause cancer. Children can be more affected by mobile phones if they are exposed to them. Headaches, sleep disorders, short temper, depression, etc are also some common effects of using mobile phones. Mobile phone companies are now trying to make mobile phones free from SAR less radiation production.
- Road accidents: A recent check reveals dangerous data that relatively 35 to 40% of road accidents are caused thanks to the use of mobile phones while driving across the world. That is a significant problem.
- Effects on teens and scholars: Utmost academy or council-going scholars or teenagers are seen as hooked on cell phones. They spend an inordinate amount of time on mobile phones browsing different social networking spots or watching pictures or playing games that spoil their study hours.
CONCLUSION
In conclusion, we must admit that there are both uses and abuses of the ambulatory. But mobile plays an important part in the development of our civilisation. It should be used duly or properly.
Mobile phones are a source of information and it depends upon us whether we use them for useful purposes or useless purposes.
