The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has revised the exam pattern of class 10th also of class 12th. The latest pattern is updated into two board exams or term-end exams, which is based on CBSE Internal Assessment. It will be effective for the academic year 2021-22. Following the revised pattern, each of the term exams will have 50% of the syllabus.

The revised syllabus will be divided systematically also will be based on the interconnectivity of concepts and topics. The exam pattern in Term I will be conducted in Nov or Dec. The exam will be conducted for 90 mins. In Term II, exams will be conducted in March or April based on the rationalised syllabus (only of Term II i.e., 50% of the entire syllabus). The total exam duration of the paper will be 2 hours.

QUESTION FORMAT

The question formats will be diversified like: – Caste-Based/Situation- Based, Open ended Short answer/long answer type.

Moreover the students will be assessed throughout the year irrespective of Term I and II and the decision taken to divide the two terms was taken so that students are not going to feel burdened in this situation of Covid 19.

The Exam pattern and marking scheme will be different for both terms. The displacement of many students due to Covid-19 will now also allow students to choose an option to appear in the exam centre of their choice.
