Employment generation for youth in the Tourism Sector

In the current scenario, the tourism sector has a broad scope because tourism is regarded as an important indicator of growth that is inclusive. One of the important features of tourism is that it generates employment indirectly or directly. In our country, India industries of tourism contributed around 7.5 percent towards employment. The tourism sector is important because it gives immense opportunities for youth and it also eradicates poverty by creating income and employment opportunities for those who are marginalized and less empowered groups of our country. In my opinion, tourism has become an important sector in reducing and combating unemployment in India. It is considered a labor-intensive industry.

The present article deals with the employment generation for youth in the tourism sector. First of all, there is a need to understand the meaning of tourism. Tourism can be defined as the act and process of spending time away from home in pursuit of recreation, pleasure, and relaxation. One of the important districts of state U.P. and country India is Aligarh. The main center of attraction for tourists is A.M.U as well as Maulana Azad Library. A.M.U is the central University and it occupies a unique position amongst universities and institutions of higher learning. It was established in 1875 while Maulana Azad Library is the central Library of A.M.U and it is famous for its invaluable collection of manuscripts and rare books. There are great opportunities for employment generation for youth in the Tourist sector. Due to the good scope of tourism, it plays an important role in the economy of the country. It also helps us to understand the different cultures, traditions, and values of a particular region. There is a need to develop an interest in the tourism sector which will also be beneficial for youth for employment purposes.

Tourism is not just only a profession but it is considered a creative activity where young aspiring minds can develop their ability to understand different cultures and heritage of a particular region. There are many opportunities for youth in the Tourism sector. Tourism has a great scope and in our country India, there is a need for tourist guides who can provide authentic information to foreigners about any particular region. India is a diverse country and youth should focus on employment opportunities and they can find this opportunity in the tourism sector.

The essentiality of tourism cannot be underestimated. The uniqueness of tourism is mainly demonstrated throughout the world. We can view the essentiality of tourism from two different important perspectives. The first one is the tourism industry and the second perspective is the tourist. In my view, tourism is essential on a global scale because it has the economic benefits that tourism is bringing to its host communities. In a real sense, the tourism sector plays a key role in the development of our economic system. When we talk about the tourism sector. We find that the tourism sector is closely interlinked with so many global sectors and also global industries that range from trade to ecological conservation.

Day by day our youth become passionate about this profession. Tourism is connected to traveling and traveling can broaden a person’s way of thinking because it gives you new experiences and also gives you a new way of life. Many youths have been working directly with the help of the tourism sector and they are known as stakeholders. Tourism has its economic value as it mainly brings money in several different ways. The essentiality of tourism can be shown through the employment generation. The enlargement of international tourism has led to employment opportunities in the tourism sector. We find that from the job of the hotel manager to the job of cleaners. Tourism has been creating various employment opportunities for youths. As we are dealing with the employment generation for youth in the Tourism sector, we find that there are two kinds of employment in the tourism sector. The first one is direct employment and the second one is indirect employment. Direct employment mainly consists of the jobs that are associated with the tourist industries. This consists of hotel staff, restaurants, and taxi drivers. While indirect employment consists of jobs that are not technical.

In our country employment generation is considered one of the major challenges. The tourism sector is regarded as one of the essential and leading sectors which are creating various job employment in India. One of the landmark features of this tourism sector is that it is creating income without destroying the ecological balance. Still in India, the tourism sector is considered underutilized. The main important question is why the tourism sector is significant. The most suitable answer is that the tourism sector can create indirect or direct job opportunities and it can also induce some of the additional jobs through the various side and linkage management. Employment in the tourism sector is considered an important macroeconomic variable. According to the World Travel and Tourism. The tourism industry of India has been considered as the second most increasing tourism economy throughout the world.

Tourism plays a key role in creating employment outside the tourist industry. In the tourism sector, the range of job opportunities may extend from unskilled to skilled tasks. The tourist industry has been providing direct and indirect employment opportunities to the larger group of our society as compared to other industries and sectors. In the tourism sector all the skill, semi-skilled and unskilled groups are employed. Nowadays, tourism is becoming a remarkable service industry. It has a major effect on those areas which possess surplus labor. For the tourist sector, skilled resources are important. There is a good relationship between the growth and development of the tourism sector and increasing employment job opportunities. Today tourism has been regarded as the largest service sector in India.

The travel and tourism sector is one of the eminent and most dynamic industries which plays a major role in today’s global economy. The role of tourism becomes even more essential because it is considered as one of the most essential engines of economic development and an important vehicle for sharing different cultures, it also creates peace by building up mutual understanding. There is no doubt that the tourism sector is regarded as one of the finest fastest growing sectors in the world. Tourism is acting as a powerful weapon for economic growth and development. There is an increment in tourist arrivals and this led to the rapid growth of the tourism sector in India. The growth of the tourism sector has been resulting in employment generation and also foreign exchange earnings. We must support policies that promote decent work in tourism.
